Liverpool v Chelsea – Reds close in on first Premiership title

While Liverpool's impressive winning streak continues, it seems as though Chelsea and Manchester City are determined to throw away their own title campaigns. Jose Mourinho's side have followed up embarrassing defeats to Aston Villa and Crystal Palace with a staggering home loss to bottom side Sunderland and that leaves the Reds as firm favourites for a win in Sunday's crucial clash.

Brendan Rodgers' side are odds on with most bookies to take the points but you can get Even Money with Stan James on this outcome. If Mourinho's Chelsea were to win you would currently be able to claim 3/1 with BetVictor while the draw completes this market at 14/5 with Bet365.

Liverpool have now won an incredible 11 league matches in succession and that run includes victories over Arsenal, Manchester City, Spurs and Manchester United. They have incredible momentum and with Chelsea suffering those three defeats against much weaker teams, we can't see past a home win here.

Luis Suarez was back on the scoresheet against Norwich and the Uruguayan is now available at 7/2 with William Hill to open the scoring here. Strike partner Daniel Sturridge can be picked up at 5/1 with Coral but the man who scored first against both Norwich and Manchester City was Raheem Sterling.

The 19 year old is at 15/2 with SkyBet to open the scoring against Chelsea and would be a safer prospect at 5/2 with SkyBet for an anytime goal.

Chelsea's striking issues are well document and their first name in this market belongs to Samuel Eto'o at odds of 15/2 with William Hill. Demba Ba is at 8/1 with Coral but the name that stands out for us is that of German international Andre Schurrle.

Schurrle has a respectable eight goals this season including a hat trick and is at 10/1 with Stan James to open the scoring or 7/2 with William Hill to find the net in 90 minutes.

Games involving Liverpool tend to be high scoring and we could easily see a repeat of the 3-2 scoreline that the Reds achieved against Manchester City. The total goals betting therefore comes into play with over the 2.5 line a very safe bet at 3/5 with BetVictor.

However, you only have to look at recent results – 3-2 against City, 3-2 against Norwich and 6-3 against Cardiff to take that further and back over 3.5 goals at 31/20 – also with BetVictor.

Those results make Liverpool an almost impossible team to predict in the correct score betting but if you are having a small stake here, a 3-2 home victory is worth taking at 25/1 with Stan James.

Liverpool hold the key to the game and Rodgers' men look unstoppable at the moment while in contrast, Chelsea are becoming one of the most unpredictable teams in the league. We are therefore backing the home win at Even Money with Stan James while our favoured side bets include over 3.5 goals at 31/20 with BetVictor and an anytime goal for Raheem Sterling at 5/2 with SkyBet.
