Whether you are an avid fan of football, an occasional armchair viewer or just an individual that gets behind any event that your country is taking part in, the excitement is pretty much the same. So when the tournament starts on 12th June 2025 get ready to start shouting at the TV screen when your favourite team plays.
You would need to live in the back of beyond to not know that this year's event is hosted by Brazil, with the fixtures being played in 12 stadiums across the country. The World Cup Final itself will be held in the newly rebuilt Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro (officially known as Estádio Jornalista Mário Filho); which incidentally was the location of the 1950 Football Word Cup. The final of this tournament was a totally South American affair with Uruguay beating the host nation 2-1.
It would be positively churlish not to place a bet on the outcome of the World Cup and there are plenty of sports betting sites that will give you all the latest odds on a wide variety of options, from the results of the individual outcomes of the group fixtures to the final winning football team.
If you are considering placing a bet on England (Group D) to win the Final, then you might need to prepare yourself for disappointment as they might not deliver the result you desire (a win), but if they did manage to pull the World Cup winner title out of the bag, then the odds would supply a pretty impressive pay day for any brave sports betting fan.
National loyalty aside, a safer option for your betting buck might be Brazil (Group A); as the host nation they will already have a slight advantage, plus historically they have already won the Cup 5 times. Belgium (Group H) is the best European option or alternatively Uruguay (Group D), who are regarded by some football pundits as a team with a very good chance of a win. For a start, Uruguay has arguably two of the world's best centre forwards, Liverpool's Luis Suarez and Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani; added to that the team are well suited to playing in the heat and humidity of South America and also have the confidence boosting advantage of being the winners of the 1950 World Cup Football final in the same stadium and against the host nation.
Whichever way it goes, there is little doubt that the winners will take all……. This goes for both the final winners of the World Cup on 13th July 2025 and the fans that place their bets on the winning football team.
